Technology changes the way teachers teach. The roles of teachers change. When technology is effectively integrated into subject areas, teachers grow into roles of adviser, content expert, and coach. Technology helps make teaching and learning more meaningful and fun.
Ten reasons to integrate technology in the classroom.
1. When students use technology as a tool or a support for communicating with others, they are in active role rather than a passive role in the classroom.
2. Students who are skilled at using technology in accomplishing tasks in school will be better prepared for the world of work.
3. Students will have more access to their teachers.

5. Personal computers will make student's life more effective.
6. Information provided to students will be more current and relevant.
7. Lessons can be more tailored to meet the needs of students and they will be more engaging.

Great list! Students can definitely use technology for asynchronous learning. We talk a lot about self pacing and self learning as teachers become the facilitators. Having the resources available for students to use technology and complete self guided tasks is great!
