Do some classrooms today still look like this?

What are your thoughts?

  1. While there's nothing wrong with establishing routines, I find that the more teachers spoonfeed and teach procedurally via direct instruction (all day, every day), the less the students actually understand. Teaching for conceptual understanding so that student can move from concrete to abstract understanding and application will help them to learn and to own the material and transfer that knowledge from situation to situation.
